Mystical mountain Prenj gives its essence to three rivers, all having a simple yet
enchanting name “Bijela”, translating to the “White One”. Each river posses its
own charm, named after cities that embellish their surroundings, adding a unique
character to their identities.
Originating from the heart of mountain Prenj, these rivers, Mostarska Bijela,
Jablaniska Bijela, and Konjicka Bijela, play the role of tributaries to the river
Neretva, the grandest river along the Adriatic Coast. Often considered to be the
Nile of Hercegovina, the river makes a great spectacle together with its “Bijela”
tributaries making an intricate network of canyons. These canyons, shaped by the
flowing rivers, unveil a beauty that is unparalleled, showing the seamless union of
nature’s artistry with the rugged and captivating charm of the Prenj’s mountain
terrain.

The journey begins at convergence of the “Mostarska Bijela” river with the Nertva
river, where the waters have patiently carved out wide fjord-like canyons during
million of years. As we follow the winding course of the “Mostarska Bijela” stream
we cross down its waters on an ascent through the canyon, tracing the footsteps
of villagers on an ancient path.
